Hello from Ocean Academy High School on the tiny island of Caye Caulker, Belize.
We sincerely thank you for your support.
While we did not reach our goal for a new room for the library, your donations still literally put books into the hands of teenagers here at Ocean Academy.
YOU have helped us to nourish a love of reading in these teenagers by providing them with a variety of literature to read; a variety of genres and a variety of reading levels. With the help and support of people like you, this little library will continue to grow and to flourish and to serve the needs of Ocean Academy students.
We got a lot accomplished in the past 12 months. We organized all of the books on the shelves and catalogued all of the books into an online library system so that students can "search the stacks" from home until we are able to reopen the campus. This has been a great help since all schools in Belize are still closed due to the Covid Pandemic. Students can select their book from home and make an appointment to pick it up at school.

Although many challenges remain - nine months without tourism, economic challenge, floods, tropical storms, hurricane threats, and steadily rising COVID cases/casualties - one thing remains certain: because of continued support from donors like you, OA students are enriching their minds and increasing their skills to equip themselves for an ever-changing future. You are giving them strength and hope and for that we are eternally grateful.
