The safety of our 800+ pupils is our top priority. The perimeter of our residential campus is currently fenced by high security walling and guarded by 6 guards day and night. However 300 meters of the back wall near SAM, needs to be replaced by a high security wall, 2.5 meters high, ASAP. Due to increasing insecurity in the area this wall will be vital to help prevent break-ins, theft, robberies, arson, attacks and protect the pupils and staff from possible physical and psychological harm.
The perimeter wall is a vital part of the security of the campus. The 300 meters of inadequate fencing is the weakest link in the current security measures. The campus is a very busy place and it is sometimes very difficult to differentiate between an intruder and a visitor. There is increasing insecurity in the area and several schools have already been targets of violent robberies. Due to the location and size of the campus it is very difficult to ensure high levels of security 24/7.
Replacing the fencing with a high security concrete wall, topped with razor wire, will help prevent unwanted people gaining entrance to the campus. Once inside the grounds they have access to all areas of the campus, the pupils, the kindergarten, the two boarding schools & the clinic. The improved security will help provide for a safer enviroment for the children, staff and patients. It will also protect the equipment and property. A high level of security is needed day & night.
Increased security measures will help provide a relaxed environment where children, staff and patients can learn, work and get medical attention thus benefitting many people in different ways. It will help not only the current student population of 850 and 90 staff members but also of those in years to come. By improved security at the campus this should help our neighbours and also have a knock on effect in the local community. Security is a basic human right and our top priority.
