This microproject will bring hygiene education and awareness to out-of-school children reached through Dosti School on Wheels. By teaching simple practices like handwashing, clean water use, and personal hygiene, it will help prevent common diseases, reduce absenteeism, and improve children's overall well-being. Each child reached will gain not just knowledge, but lifelong healthy habits that keep families and communities safer.
Dosti's School on Wheels brings education to underprivileged children in slum and rural areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Most of these children live without access to basic hygiene education or clean water facilities. Poor hygiene practices result in frequent illness, missed learning opportunities, and poor health outcomes. Through this Hygiene Awareness Activity, we aim to teach children about handwashing, clean water use, and personal hygiene, reducing preventable diseases and promoting lifelong
We will organize interactive hygiene awareness sessions at Dosti School on Wheels. Our trained volunteers will travel to selected communities to demonstrate handwashing techniques, distribute hygiene kits, and encourage positive behavior change through games, storytelling, and visuals. By combining fun learning with practical demonstrations, children will learn how to stay clean, avoid illness, and share this knowledge with their families and peers.
This activity will help build a generation of healthier, more aware children who understand the importance of hygiene and preventive health. With improved health, school attendance and learning outcomes will also rise. As children carry these lessons home, families and entire communities will benefit from cleaner environments and reduced disease spread. Over time, this small effort will contribute to a sustainable culture of cleanliness and wellbeing in underserved areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
