Thank you for your continued support of Raising A Reader! Did you know we are more than halfway to reaching our fundraising goal for this project? With just $925 left to raise, we are edging closer to bringing special needs books and programming to our budding scholars this Spring!
With Raising A Reader, imaginations will blossom with each new story. Your gift of $100 will provide a child and their family with engaging programming and books for one year. Your gift today will make a difference in the life of a child tomorrow.
When books are lacking in the home, children are left behind in school. An alarming 6 out of 10 U.S. children fail to read proficiently by grade 4. When parents are engaged and share books, children succeed.
Principal Laura Vines from Kalihi Kai Elementary in Honolulu, Hawaii has been tracking the success of students participating in Raising A Reader. She says, “Our first cohort in the Raising A Reader program is in their 3rd grade year and they are showing the highest proficiency in reading than any other grade in a tested grade!”
