Raising A Reader will be selecting recipients for the Special Needs book sets to Kindergarten children in 2018. By introducing Special Needs concepts into the classroom at this early stage, we can begin to create a more tolerant and inclusive world.
The selected books include Autism, hearing loss, being wheelchair bound, and more. Each book contains a bookplate to support families – parents, caregivers, siblings, and extended family on how to share these concepts with their children. As the book sets are implemented, we will be able to share the impact on the direct families that will be served by the special needs books in the home.
Raising A Reader has helped more than 1.6 million families develop, practice, and maintain the habit of sharing books. Thank you for all that you do to support child literacy through Raising A Reader!
Sincerely,
The Raising A Reader Team
