In the South-West Region of Cameroon, more than 240,000 people are running away from fire and bullets. Many of them are staying in forests and farms with no social services. We distribute Birthing Kits(gloves, cotton, plastic sheets, sterilized blades, etc..), multivitamins and Malaria treatment to pregnant women in displaced settlements. We have all the materials, just need support for transportation. We can reach to 3,000 pregnant women with your help.
Displaced persons are afraid of the government and have no access to social services. There are no organized large-scale camps overseen by humanitarian actors. They hide and look for highly isolated places to set up small camps. There, they do not have access to clean mats to lay, sterilized blades or gloves. Also, their feeding is limited, their nutrition deficient, and Malaria is rampant. All of these make it difficult to have a healthy pregnancy and delivery.
With your support, we will be able to reach out to some of the most isolated settlements in the South-West and distribute birthing kits, Malaria treatment and vitamins to the pregnant women living there. 3,000 babies will be delivered with clean methods, and have a healthy gestation.
This project has a direct impact on infant and mother mortality. Because of your donation, a child that would have died or been hurt by complications in delivery will be able to develop fully and live a healthy life.
