A big hug & thank you for YOUR GIFT to fund this project!
Your donation made it possible to install 3 new windows at our Community Learning Center in Chocolá, Suchitepequez. Here, in the RIESTER Computer Lab, we provide free weekly Computer Classes, plus "Chess & Checkers" hours, to young students from the village. Youngsters can also come outside of class time for free access to our RACHEL System, a massive electronic library they can use to research homework assignments or investigate their own interests.
In the main classroom there used to be just one small window on either side of the room. These didn't let in much light or air. Thanks to you, we have been able to replace these with 2 big windows on each side. This has made a major improvement in the amount of light that comes into the classroom and also means much better air circulation -- a very important factor in such a warm and humid climate.
Students will now benefit from improved lighting and more fresh air, to help them stay focused and concentrate on learning.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Please check out our other microprojects, including improving nutrition at an Elderly Center or helping kids create a nutrition garden at their Finca Buena Vista school! They would be very grateful for your support.
