Thank you very much for supporting our rural education program at the RIESTER Computer Learning Center in Chocolá, Guatemala! Together we funded the total amount of $950 for our FIRST-EVER WORKSTATIONS!
Previously the Center made do with a random assortment of tables and benches for its students. 20 brand new workstations mean each student has more individual workspace, making it easier to focus on the teacher and the lessons.
Local grade schools select outstanding 6th graders to attend the Center’s free weekly classes. This year, 104 kids are excited about learning to use a computer and to work with standard software programs such as Word, Excel, and Power Point. They also learn to navigate the RACHEL System – a huge electronic library -- to conduct research for their reports and presentations. All this helps them be confident in their schoolwork and comfortable speaking in front of classmates.
The learning experiences gained at the Center will open a world of possibilities for the future of these young rural girls and boys.
Thank you for your kindness and the thoughtful humanity of your gift!
Please donate to our main project to keep supporting rural children!
Note: Now that the Workstation Project has been fully funded, your recurring donation will automatically go to support our main project, Fighting Malnutrition in Rural Guatemala!
