Every January, Fundacion DEHVI faces the huge challenge to equip every classroom of every child center it operates since this is when the academic school-year begins in Costa Rica. It's a challenge because at this time of the year, the funds are a little limited and we need enough materials for the children to begin a new school year. Right now, over 300 children's lives are being transformed through DEHVIs high-quality, integral-education. With your help, we can equip all these classrooms!
Beginning a new school year means investing in classroom equipment, but it also means that there will be recurring and new students arriving to the child centers! January is a hard month for DEHVI, since funds run low at this time of the year. However, we want all of the boys and girls to walk in their new classrooms and find it full of new materials ready to be used for their creative-educative projects. They deserve to have a first-class pedagogical experience, and DEHVI strives to do this.
This back to school campaign will support the provision for the pedagogical and ludical materials needed to equip all 25 classrooms! DEHVI's academic curriculum is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy which is focused on project-based-learning. Due to this type of curriculum, the teachers and students need to be constantly using many different materials to create their projects. And with your help, they will be able to make their imagination visible and intensify their learning experience.
This project will impact more than 300 children's lives and their families as well. This project will help us give our boys and girls a strong foundation for their future by providing them with values and life-long skills. By keeping these children in our child centers, we give the opportunity to their parents/caregivers to look for jobs where they can become enconomically stable and therefore break off from the poverty cycle.
