Project Report

By Anthony Pius | Project Leader

Baby David Amani, an abandoned infant diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, required urgent and specialized medical intervention to save his life. Through this GlobalGiving microproject, we sought to raise USD 5,000 to ensure uninterrupted medical care, specialized treatment, continuous monitoring, and hospital support.

To date, the project has raised USD 2,814 through the generosity of 24 donors, bringing us significantly closer to our fundraising goal.

Thanks to your support, David has continued receiving essential medical care without interruption. The funds raised have enabled us to:

  • Facilitate regular consultations with neurospecialists and pediatric doctors.
  • Cover hospital visits and follow-up appointments.
  • Support ongoing monitoring of David's condition following the successful placement of a Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) Shunt, which helps drain excess fluid from his brain.
  • Purchase prescribed medications and meet other critical treatment-related expenses.
  • Provide continuous care while David remains under close medical supervision.

David has shown encouraging progress during his recovery. His condition remains stable, and medical professionals continue to closely monitor the functioning of the VP shunt to ensure healthy brain development and prevent complications. We are delighted to share that Baby David has now been reunited with his twin sister, Faith, at Diani Children's Village. Following successful medical treatment and continued monitoring, David was discharged from the hospital and is now receiving loving care alongside his sister. Their reunion marks a significant milestone in David's recovery journey, restoring an important family bond and providing both children with the opportunity to grow up together in a safe, nurturing environment. While David will continue attending scheduled medical reviews to monitor the functioning of his VP shunt, he is making encouraging progress and is surrounded by the care and support he needs to thrive.

To each donor who has contributed to this project, thank you for standing with Baby David. Your kindness has transformed uncertainty into hope and has given one vulnerable child a chance at life.
