Maurice, the man in the picture to the right, is the one who planted the most trees in the village of Fiadanana. In this picture he is proudly standing next to his trees planted in the last year. Bary, Zahana’s community gardener, has joined him for this picture opportunity to the left. Both of them in the same photograph truly illustrates that this is a joint effort, because the gardener grows the seedlings that the community participants then can plant for their reforestation efforts. Our gardeners are committed to continuously monitor the reforestation efforts, to make sure that the trees have the biggest chance to take root and grow. We heard from our team in Madagascar: "He will be rewarded at the right time. Currently the gardeners are supervising the planted trees in our reforestation effort".
An exciting fact on the side: ADES, the NGO we had been collaborating with for the solar cookers, just opened an office in the capital of Antananarivo, which makes it much easier for us to obtain the solar box cookers, reducing transportation time to 1 day, instead of 3 or 4.
Thank you to all our donors who made this micro-project successful!
