This past Thursday, September 7th, our Peten Wildlife Rescue Center was hit by a very strong storm, knocking out the power, destroying rehabilitation enclosures and destroying infrastructure and equipment. This is an emergency campaign to raise funds to repair and restore this damage and relocate animals that are currently in cramped, temporary quarters. Funding will be used to repair jaguar and parrot enclosures, and water and electrical systems. Your generous support is urgently needed.

Our sanctuary, located in the heart of the rainforest of Peten, has recently faced a devastating storm. This unexpected disaster has left us with significant damage and most importantly with a lack of space and equipment for the animals.

Animal-based tourism is growing rapidly in Guatemala, and if managed correctly can offer a sustainable economic alternative for future generations.
