This is a short project update for our reforestation micro project. We had originally planned, in conjunction with the Christmas celebrations in the villages, to award one woman in each village, who successfully planted the most trees in their reforestation project.
After consultations with the women's groups in both villages, the women decided, that the success of the reforestation project could only be truly assessed after the rainy season. While most seedlings to this point had to be watered by hand, the deciding test of nature would be the impact of the rainy season. This year’s rainy season should be ending in May or early June, consequently they had requested that any awards be deferred until that time. We will submit an additional project report, hopefully with pictures, as soon as a final decision has been reached by the women’s groups and the community.
Thank you to all our donors who made this micro-project successful!
