The Comando Matico is a collective of shipibo people giving traditional and conventional medicinal attendance to the enomocly weak population in the Amazon region of Peru. Since they started their work in the beginning of the Pandemic they have healed more than 1300 patients. Help them to establish an intercultural attendance center and continue treating the empoverished amazon population!
Only 10% of indigenous communities have access to healthcare in their territory. In the amazon region for every 10000 habitants their less than 17 medics available. The indigenous population has the highest disease and mortality rate of the whole country. The Comando Matico acts in the absence of sanitary and medicinal offers for indigenous and poor people in urban areas by the peruvian state.
Offering effective health services wich respect the language and cosmovision of the indigenous patients. By reaching urban spaces where the state doesnt recognize the indigenous peoples right to intercultural health. Promoting the usage of regional plants for disease treatment, empowering the population to take their own health measure
Creating a pilot model of an intercultural health program, which can be replicated all over the amazon region. Get the peruvian state to recognize indigenous medicine as an effcient method of disease treatment and benificiary to human health.
