A Year of Meals for Gusline

A microproject by International Disaster Volunteers (IDV)
A Year of Meals for Gusline

Summary

This project will provide a year of nutritious food for Gusline. Gusline was just three when she was found wandering the streets alone after the earthquake. Her parents are presumed dead and the orphanage is now legally responsible for her. Gusline is very traumatised by the circumstances surrounding her arrival at the orphanage, and for a long time she was quiet and ill. But now, she plays with the other kids and loves school. Nutritious food is key to keeping her strong, healthy, and thriving.

Challenge

Following the effects of tropical storm Isaac and Hurricane Sandy in Haiti, the cost of food has almost doubled. This makes it far more difficult for the orphanage to buy the food it needs. Without your help, Gusline may have to go without nutritious meals, leaving her more vulnerable to illness and less healthy.

Solution

By donating today, you'll help us provide the food that Gusline needs to stay healthy.

Long-Term Impact

A healthy, balanced diet prevents illness and promotes healthy growth. By providing the nutritious food Gusline needs, you're preventing illness and helping her grow up strong!
