This project will provide a year of nutritious food for sixteen year old Manoucheca. Manoucheca arrived at the HTDC orphanage after her father died in the 2010 earthquake. Her mom couldn't afford to care for her, or her younger brother Nekfy, so she brought them to the HTDC orphanage. Despite her hardship, Manoucheca is a lovely, independent girl who takes very good care of her little brother. But without nutritious meals to keep her growing, Manoucheca's future will be bleak.
As an orphan, Manoucheca is among the most vulnerable of Haitian children. There isn't an effective nationwide child protection service operating in Haiti to provide for her basic needs. Without your help, Manoucheca would have to go without nutritious meals, leaving her more vulnerable to illness and less healthy.
By donating today, you'll help us provide the food Manoucheca needs to stay healthy. Note that the orphanage is home to around thirty children. Donations to this project will cover Manoucheca's share of the food costs over a year, but will be spent on all the children in parallel as we fundraise for each in turn.
A healthy, balanced diet prevents illness and promotes healthy growth. By providing the nutritious food Manoucheca needs, you're preventing illness and helping her grow up strong!
