Dear Friends of Maxi & Mini,
This is a brief email to show the happiness YOU are giving to Maxi & Mini our bushbucks by providing them good food.
I received an enquiry from a blind person from France to volunteer and wasn't sure if we should have her or not at Daktari as she wasn't really in our "focus" area.
Ian thought “why not? let's have her with us anyway!".
Veronique from France is having an absolutely wonderful time in South Africa where she can feel, touch and interact with animals she has never seen as she was born blind.
Today, we are very happy that Maxi and us had given Vero this wonderful opportunity to interact with animals.
Here is the photo of Vero and Maxi enjoying the feeding time.
Thank YOU for making this possible.
Hope you have an amazing week!

We thank you very much for sponsoring Maxi & Mini’s food for the year.
With the money you donated we are able to provide Maxi & Mini with vegetables, fruit, birdseeds, game pellets and nutritution milk for a whole year!
We also have some more good news about Maxi, she had another baby J The baby is still small and is too timid to come to us, however some of the Daktari volunteers and staff have seen it around the house. Her mother Maxi will hide it until she is big enough to join her.
The local children coming every week at DAKTARI, love Maxi & Mini. They never expected to be able to touch such an elegant and beautiful animal. Every time the bushbucks pay us a visit we try to involve the children in feeding and interacting with them. We tell them that they used to occur in their local villages, but because of hunting and poaching they are not there anymore. It is important to explain the children that they have to take care of their environment otherwise their will be no wildlife left for the future generation.
Thank you very much for your support toward Maxi & Mini’s food!
Best regards,
Ian and Michele Merrifield
