This project will provide a year of safe housing for eight year old Kenson. Kenson's mum is alive but she's homeless and and couldn't afford to feed him or keep him safe. So, she was forced to abandon Kenson at the HTDC orphanage. Kenson was heartbroken when his mum left him, but he's now started to laugh and giggle again. Yet, without the orphanage to keep him safe, Kenson would be forced to fend for himself as a street-kid.
As an orphan, Kenson is among the most vulnerable of Haitian children. There isn't an effective nationwide child protection service operating in Haiti to provide for his basic needs. This means that, without your help, Kenson would be a homeless street-kid, leaving him vulnerable to exploitation and destined to a life of suffering and poverty.
By donating today, you'll help us provide the home Kenson needs to stay safe and to grow up with a fighting chance. You'll also help us provide caregivers to look after Kenson and ensure he has access to water and electricity. Note that the orphanage is home to around thirty children. Donations to this project will cover Kenson's share of the costs over a year, but will be spent on all the children in parallel as we fundraise for each in turn.
A safe home and care are essential for every child. By providing these for Kenson, you're giving him the foundations he needs to build a bright future.
