Thanks so much for supporting evacuees like Drissa.
Drissa is fifty seven five years old and he lives with his wife Lorna in Banaba, just outside Manila.Their house is partly made from bricks but it's dangerously close to a river.
Drissa and Lorna live in constant fear of heavy rains as these cause the river to quickly burst its banks. When this happens it’s hard for them to get to safety in time. Lorna is the same age as Drissa but she’s not been well for a while and isn’t as fit as her husband.
But now because of your generosity, we’ll be able to provide a large rescue boat for Drissa, Lorna, and other families like theirs.
This boat will be there to ensure that Drissa and Lorna can be safely evacuated during floods. This will protect their lives during disasters and ensure that they sleep a little easier when heavy rain is on the way.
We’ll send you updates about how your gift is changing the lives of Drissa, Lorna, and families like theirs right here on GlobalGiving. Should you ever have any questions about how we’re using your donation, please don’t hesitate to email Andy@IDVolunteers.org. We’d love to hear from you!
One last time, thanks so much (or Salamat Po in Tagalog) for ensuring that Drissa and Lorna have a rescue boat nearby to keep them safe.
