Dear Donor and ALIMENTANDO FUTUROS's supporter,
Although our project "A meal for 540 children to finish school" did not reach the goal, we want you to know that any dollar and 100% of the funds collected during our campaign were allocated to the acquisition of food in order to prepare and cook the daily meals. This work is done by volunteers of the community, so again, all funds are fully assigned to the purchase of the food.
Your donations ensured 46 students had an incentive to attend and stay at school, for both an education and a better future. Although this number seems small, please be sure that, for a month, you became a Hero for child! On their behalf, we thank you deeply.
As inflation in Venezuela is in its way to surpass 10,000,000% this year and currency devaluation of 45% also challenges us daily, we want you to know that we have also worked very hard to find temporary solutions, such as having the support of organizations with in-kind donations that have had a direct impact and benefit on ensuring we continue providing daily nutritional meals to 1,810 students and teachrs, in 4 schools, currently under meal program.
Please join us to also thank "Meals from the Heartland" that provided us with fortified rice, very rich in carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals and vegetables! Our community volunteers have been cooking for our children delicious rice-based meals which again, have compensated our limited funds to cook our normal daily meals.
We remain strong because our children know they are not alone. As you might know, school dropout remains at 50% at most schools in low-incomre areas. We have been able to reduce this abandonment rate to 3% or less in the schools under our meal program, ensuring education with nutrition and doing all we can to save a generation that is considered lost by many.
