This project will provide safe housing for eleven year old Chedline. Chedline came to the HTDC orphanage with her twin brother in 2019 after their dad died. Their mum is still alive but is desperately poor and made the heartbreaking decision to leave the twins at HTDC. Without the orphanage to keep her safe, Chedline would be forced to fend for herself as a street-kid.
The HTDC Orphanage does its very best for the children in its care, but the situation in Haiti is even tougher right now than usual. Years of political unrest and the assasination of the President have created chaos and rising prices, and the impacts of Covid-19 on the global economy mean that donations are drying up. This means that we urgently need your support to keep providing a safe home for Chedline and her brother.
By donating today, you'll help us pay the rent at HTDC Orphanage to provide the home Chedline needs to stay safe and to grow up with a fighting chance. You'll also help us provide caregivers to look after Chedline and ensure she has access to water and electricity. Donations to this project will cover Chedline's share of the costs, but will be spent on all the children in parallel as we fundraise for each in turn.
A safe home and care are essential for every child. By providing these for Chedline, you're giving her the foundations she needs to build a brighter future.
