Nakale is 11 and he's a survivor of two Nepal earthquakes. Nakale lives with his family in Bhaktapur. Nakale's school was damaged in the first earthquake and Nakale and his classmates are now struggling to learn in a hot, uncomfortable temporary classroom. This threatens Nakale's future by denying him a quality education. But with your help, we'll provide Nakale with a permanent classroom and give him back the future he deserves.
in 2015 Nepal was devastated by two earthquakes in less than three weeks. Over 36,000 classrooms were destroyed or heavily damaged and more than 1 million children, including Nakale, are now learning in terrible conditions. This is causing further harm to Nakale by denying him a quality education. This threatens his future by locking him into a cycle of poverty
Your donations will be used to provide a permanent classroom for Nakale. Specifically this project will repair one permanent classroom at the Shree Bim Adarsha school in Bhaktapur. The school's beams and columns were left intact by the earthquake, but many of the walls collapsed. Your donations make one classroom safe and usable by rebuilding and rendering brick walls, and by replacing doors and windows. We'll then paint to make the classroom beautiful.
Your donations will give Nakale back his education and help him escape poverty when he's older. Bhaktapur is not far from Kathmandu but its more rural location means that kids like Nakale are poorer, and more neglected, than those in the capital. By allowing us to provide a permanent classroom for Nakale, you'll ensure he not only recovers from the earthquakes, but also builds a stronger future in the long-term.
