Sia Fred Towo holds a degree in Development Studies, is very passionate about the development sector, and is self-motivated in community growth. She is an aspiring pan-African leader looking to disrupt the barriers to the development of women's rights in Africa. She is currently the Country Manager at Femme International, a non-profit offering menstrual sexual reproductive health (MSRH) education, research, and product distribution in East Africa for the past 8 years. She understands the complexities of grassroots work, often with marginalized groups, and volunteered and worked with various grassroots organizations for nearly six years until late 2020, when she landed a new opportunity at Femme International. Sia believes menstruation is normal and that every woman should feel free to talk about it, and it should be normalized through education and open conversation. She aspires to drive change in education and health policy to improve the overall quality of menstrual health and promote gender equality in Africa. She is a 2023 GlobalGiving Community Voices fellow.
