Sangita Iyer is a biologist and a multiple award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker. Sangita was devastated after witnessing the atrocities against the Asian elephants of Kerala, where she was born and raised. She founded the nonprofit Voice for Asian Elephants Society in 2016 and produced the groundbreaking documentary, "Gods in Shackles," to protect elephants. The film won 13 international film festival awards. Sangita has dedicated her life to educating and empowering people on environmental issues, including global climate change and wildlife conservation.
