Real Raymond

Real Raymond is a gay man and human rights advocate whose name has been in the households of Uganda for fighting, defending, and advocating for equal human rights for all. Since the Uganda Anti-Homosexuality Act of 2014 (previously called the “Kill the Gays Bill”) was passed by the parliament of Uganda in December 2013 and signed into law by the president of Uganda in February 2014, Real observed the challenges fellow LGBTIQ+ communities faced. Then, when killings and attacks were so common, he left his insurance job to start on a legacy that would impact LGBTIQ+ people. He was motivated to join the LGBTIQ+ activism movement to advocate and lobby for equal human rights. Real has fought all battles and has created safe spaces for the LGBTIQ+ community despite the recently passed anti-homosexuality bill that has destabilized and sent LGBTIQ+ people into hiding.
