Marie Bigham

Marie Bigham is the founder and co-leader of ACCEPT: Admissions Community Cultivating Equity & Peace Today, a nonprofit organization that empowers college admissions professionals who seek to center justice, equity, and anti-racism in their work. With more than 5,100 members in under three years, ACCEPT was honored by Facebook at the 2017 Facebook Community Summit. In 2018, ACCEPT received the Excellence in Education Award from the National Association for College Admissions Counseling. With over 20 years in the profession, Marie has served several college admissions counseling boards. She started her career as a college admissions officer at Washington University and currently serves as Director of College Counseling at Isidore Newman School, an independent school in New Orleans, Louisiana. Whenever possible, Marie enjoys the culture, food, and sounds of New Orleans with her husband, Colin Pettus, and their two Boston Terriers, Chelsea and Peeperton.
