Anne Kraemer co-founded Maya Health Alliance | Wuqu’ Kawoq in 2006 and has served as the Executive Director since 2009. Her passion is building high-impact, collaborative, and culturally and linguistically appropriate health and development programs in Guatemala. She trained as a cultural anthropologist at the University of Kansas, where she received her master’s degree and completed doctoral coursework. She was the recipient of a Fulbright scholarship in 2007 to examine the relationship between rural Guatemalan communities and the NGOs that serve them. She lives in Guatemala with her family. She speaks Spanish and Kaqchikel.
