I'm Norman, the GlobalGiving Southern Africa Field Traveler for 2018! While in the field, I'll be supporting and getting feedback from GlobalGiving's nonprofit partners. I'll be providing them with necessary tools to improve their fundraising efforts by conducting site visits, one-on-one support and workshops. This will also ensure that organisations are using GlobalGiving funds efficiently. During my time in the field I will connecting with the beneficiaries of projects in various communities.
Southern Africa has an extensive and lively non-profit sector, but have not explored the full potential of international online fundraising or crowdfunding. In order to better serve regional non-profit partners, GlobalGiving puts teams on the ground to provide training and support that will help these local non-profits make a difference in the lives of children, families, and the community as a whole, by raising more funds and learning how to be more effective and impactful.
I need your support! Your support will contribute to the traveling of over 4,000 miles to provide a highly personal, consultative experience to 60 GlobalGiving non-profit partners across Malawi, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The GlobalGiving platform continuously helps small, effective non-profit organizations working towards empowering vulnerable communities, by helping them to crowd source funding from an international audience.
My field work will provide valuable tools and resources as well as teach new skills to local non-profits in the region, helping them grow their organisations and increase their impact. I'll help strengthen current relationships GlobalGiving has with these non-profits, as well as work to establish new and beneficial partnerships in the region that will have a lasting impact for both GlobalGiving and Southern Africa.
