‘AS THE WORLD RETURNS TO NORMAL, WE CAN’T GO BACK TO BUSINESS-AS-USUAL’.

It is now recognised that we are facing the 6th Mass Extinction and we humans are the cause of it.

Not only are we losing huge swathes of biodiversity but the climate is also permanently changing. Global air temperatures are rising as well as sea temperatures and levels which is increasing catastrophic weather events which is leading to worsened coastal erosion, something we’re actively seeing and struggling with on Curieuse.

Agricultural farming in particular releases significant amounts of methane and nitrous oxide, two powerful greenhouse gases which are warming our planet, and so here on Curieuse Island will not be consuming meat for one week in our effects to reduce our carbon footprint.

It can sometimes feel overwhelming but there are small daily life changes that can REALLY make a difference.

With this diet change we hope do to two things; 1) raise awareness of the 6th Mass Extinction that we are facing and 2) educate ourselves and others on small changes that can be made TODAY to help alleviate these changes.

We would love your support with these this dietary change so please get involved by organising your own at home, and fundraising for our conservation projects below, to contribute towards our efforts in marine and terrestrial wildlife conservation.

This global campaign for GVI Charitable Programs aims to raise 10,000USD in total to support on-going long term conservation, carbon reduction and mitigation projects.

Donate now to support these conservation efforts.
