On August 26th, a powerful flood tore through the Rasuwa and downstream districts of Nepal. Over a thousand people have lost their lives and thousands are still unaccounted for.
The scale of destruction is vast. Homes, health facilities, and cultural sites have been washed away. Bridges and roads are gone. Schools have been destroyed, and drinking water infrastructure has been heavily damaged across entire communities. An estimated 1.6 million people have been affected.
The media headlines have faded. The devastation has not. It will be a long road to recovery.
We leave for Nepal in October to trek the Manaslu Circuit and climb Larke Peak. We want this trip to raise awareness and support for Nepal through this time. Our goal is to raise $6,249 — a dollar for every meter of the peak we are climbing.
Every donation goes directly to GlobalGiving's Nepal Flood Relief Fund, which channels funding to vetted Nepali organizations working in the affected areas.
Give what you can. Thank you for your support.
