On the 12th August I will be starting a 2000km self-supported bikepacking race, called GBduro, from Land's End to John O'Groats on road, gravel, singletrack, and everything in between. There will be 4 stages of roughly 500km, which I will have up to 10 days to complete.
Considering this will be a very challenging ride, with lots of periods of pain and discomfort, I thought it would be a great opportunity to do something for a fantastic charity. Earlier in the year, Lucy (Ellen's sister) volunteered in Greece at a fantastic charity called Yoga and Sport with Refugees who's aim is to empower and integrate refugees whilst seeking asylum through sport. If you would like to see more details here's their website: https://yogasportwithrefugees.org/
During the ride I plan to update on progress on my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/benmelling1/ and you can also follow my progress through a dot on a map here: https://dotwatcher.cc/race/gbduro23
