Earth Day Nepal

A fundraiser by Pokhara Hub

In celebration of World Earth Day on the 22nd of April here in Pokhara, for 2 hours each morning beginning on Monday the 19th, we will be collecting rubbish along the route from our homestay to our Women’s group in Male Patan. We aren’t sure if we will make it all the way, and may run out of bags, as anyone who has been along this route knows how congested it is with trash. We want to raise awareness of this in our communities and encourage more practices which will reduce these high volumes of waste.

We know that climate change is going to have the most immediate and significant effects on people in developing communities – and the majority of those who will be adversely affected are girls and women. We need your help to continue to raise funds for our Women’s Empowerment Programs so that as these new realities creep closer, our community women are equipped with additional skills and knowledge to pivot and support their families and communities.
