Beginning Farmer Fund

Dear Friends and Family, In 2015 I started a farm growing fruits, vegetables and cooking herbs. Now realizing that the economy of The Bahamas is not recovering as fast as is needed so we are faced with the challenges of starting a business in a strict economic environment. Farming comes with its challenges and its rewards. The global economic slowdown over the past years reduced economic growth in the country and for many years the country has been struggling to improve its economic state. Unemployment has increased however, inflation has remained low. Given these facts it appears that it will be a while before the country recovers to its true economic state. This makes it difficult for Bahamians to grasp the opportunities that are becoming available. Currently, we are looking for your stewardship to help us reach our goal. Your donation can make the difference. You know that just $50 can buy vegetable seeds such as carrots or bell pepper that can sow a one acre field with enough foliage and fruit. Fresh manure is readily available for just under $100. The task is attainable but the funds are small. Can we count on you to help us and ensure that an effort to support food sustainability make a difference to us all.
