On Saturday, 21 November, we are coming together in London for a 5K Parkrun for Venezuela, raising funds for families and communities affected by the two earthquakes that struck La Guaira.
For many families, the emergency is far from over. Homes were destroyed or left unsafe to live in. Families lost belongings and livelihoods; some are grieving loved ones, and others are facing serious injuries and life changing disabilities. The physical, emotional and financial consequences continue long after the earthquakes themselves.
Coromoto 2020 (working under GlobalGiving UK charity number 1122823) was already working in La Guaira before the earthquakes. Its established presence and local partnerships enabled the organisation to respond with humanitarian aid, including food, safe drinking water, hygiene supplies, child recovery kits, and search-and-rescue equipment.
And that support continues.
Coromoto 2020 (working under GlobalGiving UK charity number 1122823) is now supporting the recovery through community kitchens, providing daily meals and community space for families navigating this difficult period.
