Morocco Earthquake Appeal

Morocco faces one of the largest natural disasters that it has experienced in over six decades. A 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit during the evening of 8 September and has seen thousands of lives lost. Many people have suffered serious injuries and rescuers are still searching, particularly in villages in the High Atlas Mountains. Hospitals are overwhelmed and many people in the mountains are without basics.

Having been in Marrakech at the time of when the earthquake hit, we were extraordinarily lucky to be physically unharmed. We witnessed the damage that occurred and felt the devastation of those around us. It was incredible to see Moroccans come together and unite. They have shown great resilience, compassion and strength despite shocking events. Not only this, we were overwhelmed by the hospitality which they continued to show us as tourists despite going through difficulties of their own.

Having been fortunate enough to return safely back to the UK, we would very much like to help by raising funds on behalf of the Eve Branson Foundation which is quickly working to support recovery efforts to impacted areas across the Atlas Mountains and beyond (https://evebransonfoundation.org.uk).
