Final Report

Dear Friends,

It is my pleasure to share our final report via Global Giving on the progress of our project to provide quality education to the marginalized children in Kishanganj district of Bihar.

The end of March usually sees preparations for year-end evaluations and promotion to new class. AIF will be admitting the students studying in the learning centers to the government schools from April. The children are really excited for this new change in their lives.

Shaheen a ten-year-old girl started coming to the center says, “ It is almost a year now after I started attending classes and now I will join school from the next month.”

Due to paucity of funds and donor support it has become difficult to run the centres. We are really thankful to our esteeemed donors who contributed to this project and helped our students to getting education.

Progress Report

Ruby with her machine

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Azad India Foundation!

It is my pleasure to share our latest report via Global Giving on the progress of our project to provide sewing machine to a needy girl for self-reliance in Kishanganj district of Bihar. Your generous gift to provide needy girls in Kishanganj with a sewing machine has been life changing. Thank you for your support and for empowering girls to rise out of poverty.

Azad India Foundation gave sewing machines to Ruby, Afsana and Bilkish from village Nezagachh, Koltha and Phoolbari from Block Pothia and Thakurganj. AIF team visited Ruby at her village after three months. We were delighted to find that she is earning around Rs 1500 per month stitching clothes in her village. The team also visited Afsana and reported that she is also earning between Rs 1000 -1200 per month. They are contributing to their family income.

Azad India Foundation is running sewing center at the village Chattargach where new batch of girls have started learning basic stitching and tailoring. It is six-month course following which a girl can start earning from her home. As most of the girls belong to marginalized sections of the community they are unable to buy machines. This project helps them to realize their dreams.

Thank you for giving chance to succeed! Your gift is making a big impact in not only their life but given hope others as well.

Do contribute to help us give life of dignity to more disadvantaged girls and please spread the word.

Progress Report

Rehana at Kasibari Learning Centre
Rehana at Kasibari Learning Centre

Dear Friends,

We would like to wish Global Giving and our donors a very happy and prosperous new year.

It is my pleasure to share our latest report via Global Giving on the progress of our project to provide quality education to the marginalized children in Kishanganj district of Bihar.

The New Year has begun with a promise of reaching new heights and making education accessable to all the children.

The classes have began post agricultural and festival season from 2 to 4 hours depending upon the availability of the children as most of them help their parents in fields or take care of their younger siblings. Our target is to enrol the children in the age appropriate classes in the formal schools in March when the new session begins.

Rehana our teacher at Kasibari village is a dedicated and trained teacher who is from the community. She says,” teaching girls have ensured that our community will have educated next generation". Her husband has also started helping her in running the center, a giant leap in women empowerment.

Shahnaz an eleven-year-old school dropout started coming to the center. She says, “I am learning basics again and will join formal school from April.”

Some of our centers are closed down due to shortage of funds and donors.

Do contribute to help us reopen the centers and keep these disadvantaged children into the education program. We would be grateful if you can spread the word. We really need support to continue this program.
