It's with the support of so many incredible people that our water well project is completely funded and completed!
Providing a clean water source to the community in East Asia is instrumental to awakening potential and provoking transformation in the lives of others. We know that with the completion of this project the lives of the villagers will be transformed.
Through difficulties reaching the village because of landslides, the team perservered and did what was needed in order to complete the project and have it completed in time! New water pipes were installed to ensure the villages can consistently have access to water!
One consistent problem faced was the water source freezing in the winter. Pressed for time, there was a hope to have the project completed before the freezes and not only was it completed, the freeze came at a later time than usual!
Members of the village have sent messages of excitement and gratitude to all who have supported this project.
We are so grateful for all the support we have received on this project. As we continue to navigate the pandemic domestically and internationally, it's vital that we are able to make progress with our East Asian water project.
After landslides hit many regions, Wenxian included, many communities faced devastation and the community in Wenxian is no different. On top of the pandemic causing stress and anxiety, the landslides destroyed the only available water source for the community making this project even more vital.
With most of the funding in place and a partner in East Asia leading the water project construction, we are taking steps needed to ensure this project can be finished by mid-November before the yearly freezes hit the region.
We are so grateful for the partners that have supported our efforts as advocates and fundraisers to meet this very basic need of accesibility to a safe, clean water source.

Even in the midst of COVID-19 response, Attack Poverty has remained committed to the installation of a clean water pipe in East Asia. The project has not started yet as we are still in the midst of raising support to get the project off the ground. We are currently meeting with three entities to discuss funding as well as launching a "Walk for Water" campaign in the month of June alongside a key partner.
And this week we are meeting virtually with our East Asia director to walk the path of the water line in the village.
We thank you for your support and ask you to continue to serve with us.
