Four months later, the Maternal and Child Centre was inaugurated as well as our offices in Cuajimalpa, one of Mexico City districts. It is known by neuroscience experts that "Early experiences affect the development of brain architecture, which provides the foundation for all future learning, behavior, and health. Just as a weak foundation compromises the quality and strength of a house, adverse experiences early in life can impair brain architecture, with negative effects lasting into adulthood. Shonkoff states that investing in high-quality early childhood care and education is the best investment society can make, particularly for children of low-income families, and that education is the key to economic productivity in a global economy." (Center on the Developing Child, Harvard University). Social scientists and economists, including James Heckman (Nobel Prize in Economics), have shown that the best social investment is early childhood development due to its effects on the progress of human capital and economic growth (return of investment of $17dls for each dollar invested). Based on this acknowledgment our mission is to strengthen parenting capabilities within the family to promote brain development of children from zero to six years as a social investment in Mexico. Our main objective is to promote a culture about the impact of early childhood care as social investment and the positive consequences for the future of Mexico with children who start their lives with solid affective ties, without toxic stress interference to achieve a healthy social and emotional development. De Cero a Tres is an organization that promotes early childhood programs involving the family. The organization designs, implements and evaluates innovative, science-based models than achieve the strengthening of brain architecture of vulnerable children, securing solid foundations to achieve meaningful contributions to society. We seek to achieve our goal through 3 programs: 1) "Interaccion Oportuna" (Timely Interaction): early stimulation sessions that promote a responsive relationship between parents and their children to create foundations that will build their whole future. Children under 6 years old accompanied by their care givers attend twice a week to multisensory and playful sessions, working in areas such as gross motor, fine motor, cognitive, language and socio-emotional skills, focusing in promoting an affective bond. In the sessions the caregivers receive training which is reinforced with additional material that is shared digitally or printed (articles, songs, videos, exercises, among others). 2) "Construyendo un Mundo Predecible" (Building a Predictable World): program that works with the family to seek best parenting practices creating a positive and predictable environment through personalized visits to their homes. To accomplish this achievement in the development of children is essential to work at home to change parenting practices, addressing the topics of order, routines and positive discipline. 3) "Capacitacion" (Training): Diploma of Early Education within the Family to train parents and caregivers. The students will be able to apply the acquired knowledge to establish responsive relationships between caregiver and child promoting optimal development in children. Through our programs we seek to improve children's environments of relationships and experiences in their early to promote their optimal development.
