School on Wheels, Inc.

The mission of School on Wheels is the enhancement of educational opportunities for homeless children from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Our goal is to shrink the gaps in their education and provide them with the highest education possible. We do this by offering: * One-on-one weekly tutoring * Backpacks, school supplies and school uniforms * A toll-free number for kids to keep in touch with us * Assistance in entering school * Help in locating lost records
Help Homeless Children Succeed in School

Josh is 8 and homeless. He lives in a shelter with his mom and sister. He does not attend school regularly because of his families circumstances and he is frustrated...He doesn't know his multiplication tables and is behind in other subjects too. With the help of a School on Wheels tutor, he is beginning to catch up and is learning to enjoy learning! He has a new backpack and a new study buddy that he meets every week and homework is no longer a chore but an opportunity to shine!
Keep Bussy warm this winter! Let's raise $5000!

Approximately 1.6 million children are homeless annually in the United States. Our volunteers provide one-on-one tutoring for homeless children k through 12 who live in shelters, motels, group foster homes, cars and on the streets. Our goal for 2013 is to provide tutoring to 2,800 students. Help us reach our goal to help more homeless children succeed in school! project reportread updates from the field
