Mission

The Emerge Project's mission is to tell stories about Black people who are making a difference. We are a multimedia storytelling project that highlights the ways in which Black grassroots entrepreneurs and community leaders generate growth and development in South Africa and Brazil. We aim to help shift the narrative about Black people from mostly negative, to a more positive and nuanced narrative. In addition, we aim to facilitate partnerships and collaboration with other leaders and entrepreneurs, allies and supporters.
