Still a ways to go!

This project has several benefits when fully funded.  It will help the 15,000 residents in two very poor remote villages in NE Uganda be able to better prepare their fields, have higher crop yeilds and be able to plant faster ahead of the rains.  With higher crop yields they will have enough food for their families and excess to sell to help raise thier subsistance standard of living.

Additionally, another goal is for the non-profit we work with there to raise their own crops to eventually become financially independent from outside funds.

They are in the rainy season right now, having just planted their fields by hand.  The next round of crop planting will be in August which is when we would like to have the equipment ready for them.

Please share this need with your friends.

A gift that keeps on giving

Giving a pregnant goat to a widow or orphan in rural Uganda is an amazing life changing gift.  They are trained by our veterinary team to care for the mother and the babies.  They are not allowed to eat the goats.  They can only sell them or trade them.  Within a couple of years they can easliy have a small herd of 10 to 15 goats.  They can trade 7 goats for a milk cow or a bull.  I have been amazed to see how they manage and use their herd to positivly impact their lives.  This has been one of the most impactful projects we have undertaken among the poorest of the poor in Uganda. When you give to this project you are changing lives. Thank you and share this with your freinds and family.

You Did it !!

Today we crosssed the finish line and raised our goal of $3000 to purchase desks and school supplies for the remote village in NE Uganda!!  What an amazing group effort.  You have accomplished an amazing life changing thing.  It isn't often that we get to do something that truly changes someones life, but you have done that.  The parents and chidlren in this village thank you.  I will keep you updated when the school is completed and desks are in place.  It may be a month or so as it is the rainy season there and the road to the village is not the greatest.

Thank you all for such a great effort!
