The main aim of the Organisation is to establish a just, sustainable and participatory society by utilizing local available resources and people's organisation's where each individual will live in dignity and self respect. KARMI main aim is to rural and tribal development specially the tribal and rural people specially women , small and marginal farmers and migrant youths through management of natural resources and provide skill training and placement. (ii) Aim :- To establish a just, sustainable and participatory society by utilising the local available natural resources and services where each individual will live with dignity and self respect. (iii) Objectives :- KARMI has been functioning with appropriate programme indigenous style of implementation and generate a greater level of people participation. To undertake, promote or organize social welfare, educational and development activities aimed at improving the living condition and generate social, economic, civil, and moral conditions of the people particularly of the weaker section of the community without distinction of caste, creed, and religion. To educate and assist the rural poor to release their creative faculties for their economic, health, social and cultural improvement. To bring awareness among a target group of scheduled tribes and other underprivileged groups such as scheduled caste , small and marginal farmers landless, and bonded labors for self reliance and social justice . To establish a training based for the grass root functionary drawn from the target group as well as the young educated professionals. The training would cover education , agriculture , health , skill improvement and income generation activities To undertake research studies relevant to the target group with the aim of searching alternative development strategies. KARMI has strived for and actualized people participation in many areas of its works and is pound to stay that it dreams much of its strength from the process. Self-reliance is the autonomous capacity to take decision on one's own livelihood and chose ones course of development. It means the ability to assess over ones means of livelihood and ones environment, participation as a central democratic value is organically linked with this ability for its means organized efforts to increase control over resources and instituting on the part of the people who have neither to have been excluded from such control. Liberation from domination and exploitation require a measure of counter power against the dominant interest with the community. KARMI believe that skill training to the youth in the age group of 15 to 35 years having their secondary education and engaged on unskilled works in hotel, daily wage earners, help their parents in agriculture and domestic works and their wage are very less and somehow unproductive. The passed their time throughout like as unskilled workers and their socio-economic condition is going down day by day. To cope them with the skill work and enhance their income and socio-economic condition skill training is most urgent. Skill Training is the single most important tool to effort all-round social reform and also to enhance the self esteem and self confidence of the youths. KARMI by this proposed skill training programme want to feed up 200 youth in 1 years on mason, driving, house wiring, bamboo craft, and Motorcycle repairing training with on the job for one-month duration in market-related skills so that can help rural youths gain rewarding employment. By this training process of such needy people who are undertake the training on the job or by depute them to workshop, workplace, garage, showrooms, and institutions. The objective is to enhance their level of skills and help them enter the labour market and through the means of career guidance and counselling the youths for better earning and sustainable livelihood. KARMI has conducted a survey and make an assessment on skill development there are about 75% of youth in the age group of 18 to 35 years are semi educated having 10th or below standard and majority of them are unskilled and have no any training experience nor any opportunity to take training. There is more training need of them to make them skill and make employability to ensure proper job and placement for their socio-economic upliftment. KARMI felt need to undertake a project for them to enhance their skill and placement. There is a chance of high dropout because they are engaged somehow and the wage is very much essential for them to maintain their family. So training on the job is only a way out for them. So KARMI with support of GLOBAL GIVING FOUNDATION AND with the collobarative support of Tata Trusts Mumbai propose the skill development training programme to the rural youth for their skill upgradation which will help their income increase by 50% and able to provide a sustainable livelihood to their families. . KARMI believe that skill training to the youth in the age group of 15 to 35 years having their education below 10th passed and engaged on unskilled works in hotel, daily wage earners, help their parents in agriculture and domestic work and their wage are very less and somehow unproductive. The propose skill development programme based on driving, house wiring, bamboo craft, and Motorcycle repairing training with on the job for one-month duration in market-related skills so that can help rural youths gain rewarding employment. The programme focus on the skill development of the migrant youths belonging to Adivasi and Dalit communities in the proposed kalahandi district together form about 69% of the total population (Scheduled Tribes-51.96 and Scheduled Castes-18.21%), constitutionally bracketed as 'Scheduled', people belonging to these selections of the society have a long history of deprivation. On one side are the adivasis, the indigenous people, who always lived away from the mainstream communities. They score the worst on practically all development indicators and suffer from weak social organization and solidarity. However, the situation of SCs and STs present face different challenges and there are others in the district who are also very poor and vulnerable. By this proposed project KARMI wanting to improve the livelihood of the youths in the age group of 18 to 35 years with the educational qualification below 10th passed or below to conduct the training on job and helps them to complete the training without any financial problems. By this project support KARMI able to help them for improving their socio-economic condition and the training play an most important role for their all-round social reform and also to enhance the self esteem and self confidence of the youths. Outcomes: How will these people benefit from your project? (in no more than 200 words) By this training process of such needy people who are undertake the training on the job or by depute them to workshop, workplace, garage, showrooms, and institutions. The objective is to enhance their level of skills and help them enter the higher niches of the labour market at the time of their entry or shift. KARMI also provides regular placement support to youths who come through the training programmes and looking for work and new opportunities. Through the means of career guidance and counselling fairs organized by our centres, the youth are given information about the various employment opportunities. The skill up gradation and placement their income increased by 50% more than the present income and their socio-economic development will be possible and ensure their sustainable livelihood. To cope them with the skill work and enhance their income and socio-economic condition skill training is most urgent. Skill Training is the single most important tool to effort all-round social reform and also to enhance the self esteem and self confidence of the youths. TATA Trusts the main supporters of KARMI for migration programme where the skill up gradation is the main components and the project will be the part of the programme and a convergence with the project as per mentioned in the budget sheet. TATA Trusts also provide consent on the project and agree to work as co-funder to the programme. KARMI also link the beneficiaries with government institution, the private institutes, workplaces, garages and they provide the residential as well other allowance to the beneficiaries. The programme also linked with govt. Skill development training and many trainees also link with that and it will be a good result for the programme. Similarly project DAKHYTA also help on skill development and placement programme. Rural livelihood mission and mission shakti programme of ICDS also help and support the programme.
