Dear donor,
We’d like to share Daiana’s story and how your support has been essential to help her.
Daiana is a single mother of two children and lives in extreme poverty. She lives in a house that doesn’t have electricity, plumbing, or sanitation of any kind. She constantly deals with leaks and seepage. Her youngest is believed to have sickle cell anemia and is severely allergic to cow’s milk. In the past year, her son has had a hard time gaining weight and was sent to Dara in April of 2022.
Other than her day-to-day hardships, Daiana needed an opportunity to raise her socioeconomic status. After entering the Family Action Plan, she has had help with her family’s healthcare, housing situation, education, income, and citizenship issues. She’s updated all of their documents, has gone back to school to finish her basic studies, has had help with her children’s health and nutrition, and has been given a monthly food card worth R$200, which has helped her provide more, healthier food.
Furthermore, Dara has helped her discover a new passion: cooking. She’s completed a few culinary courses and since her first lesson, she’s been able to learn practical ways to increase her income and her family’s quality of life.
Together, we’re changing lives. Thank you for your help!
Best wishes,
The Dara Team
