Nourishing the Youth of Jamaica

Since our last update three months ago, you have helped us nearly double the total amount raised for our Little Angels Learning Center program! We are incredibly grateful and humbled by your generous support.

The Little Angels students have truly benefited from the additional resources your donations have provided for them. You've given them new books that spark their interest in reading, new supplies for fun art and craft projects, and possibly the most important- two nutritious meals a day. In developing countries, one out of six children is underweight and under nourished, contributing to 2.6 million deaths of children under five each year. In order to have an opportunity to thrive, children must have adequate nutrition, which is why Mustard Seed Communities makes this a priority at our Little Angels Learning Centers. Your donations help cover the associated costs and provide our students with energy, focus, and nutrition so that they can continue to learn at their highest possible level.

Lately, the students have especially loved their sing-a-long time. Their favorite songs range from "If You're Happy and You Know It" to "Create In Me A Clean Heart". This high-energy activity gives the Little Angels an opportunity to work on memorization and cooperation skills, while also allowing them the chance to let their unique personalities shine through.

We thank you again for joining us in supporting the education and nutritional needs of underprivileged preschool students in Jamaica. Because of your support our Little Angels Learning Centers can continue to grow, thrive, and reach the Jamaican children most in need.

A Semester of Great Progress

Clown Day 2016!
Clown Day 2016!

As the fall semester comes to a close for our Little Angles Learning Center students, we take this opportunity to reflect on all that has been accomplished. From spelling bees to interactive role playing the students have been busy honing a variety of different skills. Each day includes time for group learning, personal play time, nutritional meals, and interactive activities. We have seen amazing progress over these last three months by many of our students. Thanks to your added support, our teachers have additional resources giving them the opportunity to provide more one-on-one attention to the students. Students like Raymond have benefited greatly from this. Back in September, he struggled to count by 5 but now he is able to do it all the way up to 100! We're incredibly proud of all the hard work our teachers are putting in to make sure these children receive the best, well-rounded education possible.

As an added bonus, please enjoy this adorable photo from this year's Clown Day featuring 10 of our silliest Little Angels! Clown Day happens annually and is excitedly looked forward to by all of the children. The purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to express their unique personalities through a creative and engaging activity. We make sure to give the appropriate attention to the development of all aspects of the students' mental, physical, and spiritual selves.

Thank you for joining us in supporting the education and nutritional needs of underprivileged preschool students in Jamaica. We hope that thanks to this campaign our Little Angels Learning Centers can continue to grow, thrive, and reach the most needed children of Jamaica.
