This does create a strong bondage with their area as they have opportunity to learn a lot from outside while doing so - Organisation has always believed in creating leadership so that it does not become individual dependent. Already two leadership transitions have taken place and organisation continues to build more and more leaders - Organisation has a unique character of 'experimenting' trying out new things to address the issues which communities face. Examples are rain water harvesting in lined pond in saline areas, making saline land productive, lobster and crab fattening, and many others. This enables and motivates communities to try out new things and attracts others to work with Utthan. Organisation, always has adhered to the constitutional values but has not remained static. It has always responded to the challenges of changing time and prepared itself for it, whether it is climate change, economic policies or issues of caste and communalism.
