Last year Starfish supported 12,000 children in 29 community-based organizations throughout South Africa, providing them with access to education, healthcare and child-protection services. We know our model works because we follow the progress, one child at a time. Our work ranges from crisis intervention like food parcels and help obtaining identity documents, to access to education and training, mentorship, and support for income generation activities with the aim of lifting whole communities out of the vicious cycle of poverty and HIV.
