Literacy Master Map Program 2019-2020

Literacy Master Map Program 2019-2020 is approved!
Literacy Master Map Program 2019-2020 is approved!

We are excited to start our Reading Program this year and would like to thank our sponsors and Penndco Board of Directors for giving us the opportunity to host the Literacy Master Map Program 2019-2020.

Reading comprehension is a critical component of literacy. During this class we would focus on pre-reading skills and connect prior knowledge to the text, make predictions about the text, and use picture clues. Our students will develop and expand knowledge of words and word meanings to increase their vocabulary. The students will be exposed to reading, writing, and playing games that are developed for literacy development. The students will have read aloud. Reading aloud to children stimulates their imagination, develop language, listening skills, and prepare them to understand the written word. The class will also focus on various skills connected to writing. Students will learn how to structure their writing as well as have exposure to a variety of different types of writing. We will also be working on identifying themes, identifying key ideas in a text, and understanding the structure of a text.

Again and again we appreciate all donors for supporting our program and helping us inspire young minds and develop their love for reading.

Building Interaction

Dear our Sponsors,

We would like to send you our super "Thank You" for supporting us in achieving our goals by teaching little children with autism spectrum disorder. Again and again we appreciate your generosity.

Every day we learn more and more about child’s communication as well as child’s ability to understand language. All children love to play, and all of them have preferred activity or toys. For example, Illya demonstrates his interests to play with a puzzle and he uses words to express his experience. Max likes textured cards and he names the pictures during his story time.

Building interaction during play time is our goal, and we support our children in it by providing them lots of opportunities to learn language and have fun during learning time. We have a child who is a First Words User who uses many new words combined with gestures, and mother is trying to help him to put two words together. We count every child’s word or gesture to encourage him to develop his ability to express himself during different life situations.

Penndco Families thank our sponsors for helping us in supporting our children to have a fun in learning process daily. Every child has a progress, and we ask our sponsors to continue to support us in reaching  our goals.

Sincerely,

Tetyana Varenychenko, M.ED

Young Minds Inspired!

Thank you Penndco Board of Directors
Thank you Penndco Board of Directors

Dear Donors,

We would like to share that our Literacy Master Map program had a huge success and we cannot wait to start the new 2019-2020 school year. The families and children appreciate every supporter to reach our goals. Ivan’s parents, Kirill’s parents, Kristina’s parents and her grandmother and Alexander’s parents and grandparents sent us a special thank you for very successful results in developing child’s love to read a book.

Reading is important, because it teaches children to listen, to understand the text, and helps the mind grow. It also helps to build child's vocabulary. Our course will focus on the most important aspect of reading – comprehension. The students will associate meaning and understanding with reading. They will make predictions about the text and use picture clues. We will also be working on connecting ideas to what children already know. Students will develop and expand knowledge of words and increase personal vocabulary by listening to a variety of texts. They will also express ideas or opinions in group and individual settings. The students will be exposed to reading, writing, and playing games that are developed for literacy development.

Again and again we thank our sponsors for helping us inspire young minds and develop their love for reading.

Sincerely,

Tetyana Varenychenko, M.Ed.
