Thank You

Our apologies for the delay in this report to all of you who have shown an interest in providing help to the people of Texas, and have generously donated; but we are stumped and need your help. We do not understand, except for the lack of media, why it is so difficult to generate donations here in the United States, yet United States money is being donated for out of country projects.   All projects are valuable, and need the support of each of you in order to help people all over the world.

In the past year the state of Texas has been hit with many disasters of epic proportion, from tornadoes, to flooding, to fires, to floods, back to fires, more tornadoes, and more floods.  It has taken its toll, loss and damaged homes are many, loss of life is terrible, but has thankfully been minimal. Here is where we need your help with any an all of our United States projects.  Please use your social media, word of mouth, family and friends and let them know that organizations like ours depend on the help of others to help those in need during disasters.  We assure you that Do Your Part looks for the most vulnerable areas in need of our help, and with that it makes you the most powerful volunteer.

Thank you again for reaching out and touching the lives of people who are humble.  We send their thanks, along with ours for your gracious generosity.

Update of South Carolina Flooding

Do Your Part recently changed the name of the South Carolina page to Support East Coast Disasters. We would like to assure all donors that all donations submitted to the South Carolina page will go to South Carolina. Earlier this year one of our volunteers delivered gift cards for families, and toys for children in the Columbia, South Carolina area.  Much more is needed for South Carolina, but with the recent flooding disaster in West Virginia we need to open the page up to include all disasters on the East Coast from Maine to Florida. This past year has seen freezing temperatures, massive snow, rain and flooding that even the drought laiden west coast states could not handle. With Hurricane season on us, we need to be prepared for the unknown.

Do Your Part would like to thank you for all your assistance in helping us to come to the aid of those in need. We look forward to your continued support and ask the volunteer in you to reach out for us to friends and family and let them know about our projects.

Thank you again for all you do to reach out and help others, along with that of Global Giving who gives us the opportunity to reach out to more people.

Backpack Progress

Thank you to all that know how valuable a backpack is to a child that has lost much if not all of their pocessions. I don't know if any of you have had a family loss, for those of you who can relate, remember how everything centered around the adults and what was needed for the whole family, like the essential, food, water, shelter, money, clothes, etc. Some how the minor needs of a child are lost in the big picture which is understandable in the overall picture, but not necessarily to a child, and most children do not really need much, just a little something that is just for them, something to show they are not forgotten about.

As you can see we have not raised much, fortunately we have had a lot of in kind donations to go with the backpacks that we have purchased with the donations. We have been able to dispense some of those backpacks to one family that indeed lost everything, as they were rescued off the roof of their house. This particular family has three children and there homes was part of the most recent devastation caused by the flooding in Texas. The children were so grateful, each backpack contained paper, pencils, folders, book, small stuffed animal, a couple small toys, cars for the boys and doll for the girl. They wanted us to relay their thanks to all. Sorry we don't have any pictures, we did not want them to think a picture to publicize was more important than them.

Thank you again for supporting this project for children faced with disasster. and please tell others about this project it needs the help of people like you. We have given out 2175 backpacks to date.
