Another School Year Has Begun!!

Visual Arts at PS163 - May 2016
Visual Arts at PS163 - May 2016

The 2016 - 2017 school year is underway!

Arts For All is thrilled to jump right into a new school year. Our Literacy Through the Arts program started at the end of September at PS 15 and Hamilton Heights. Students in kindergarten through 2nd grade at those schools will build reading, writing and verbal expression skills through a multi-arts curriculum in theater, literature, music, and visual arts.

Our Artistic Residency Programs are kicking off at PS 76 in Queens and PS 163 in the Bronx. At PS 76, a new set of students will participate in the Haiku and Visual Arts program in which students created colorful works inspired by works of Sydell Rosenberg (1919-1996).

Thank you once again for your continued support of our mission. This project is nearly funded, please visit the new link: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/art-programs-in-need-new-york-children/ to continue to support Arts For All programs. Without your help, we would not be able to reach thousands of under-served New York City children with our accessible arts programs.

Thank you for your support of Arts For All (AFA). It's summer now, but the 2015-2016 school year came to a close and another successful school year has goes in the books!

In June, two more Arts For All programs came to a close. Teaching Artist Franklyn Strachan led a film residency at the Green School in Brooklyn. Students got hands-on experience creating their own documentary. At PS 76, Teaching Artist Vidho Lorville worked with students to bring together Visual Arts and Haiku poetry. Students created colorful works inspired by works of Sydell Rosenberg (1919-1996).

Thank you once again for your continued support of our mission. Without your help, we would not be able to reach thousands of under-served New York City children with our accessible arts programs.
