The Archidiocesan Food Bank

During 2019, the SiFuturo Foundation initiated an agreement with the Archdiocesan Food Bank. Ever since, the Food Bank has granted a total of 15 families, affected by the HIV infection, basic groceries on a monthly basis.

SiFuturo advises these and other families - a service provided by our in-house social worker that includes training workshops for adults and children, as well as recreation activities and musical workshops for children.

We hope to expand the scope of this progam during 2020 so to start visiting families in their homes in order to strengthen our social work efforts with a more integral approach.

Comfenalco Antioquia

Our prevention program that you have been supporting will carry out during 2020 the 3rd Call for artworks to start building our exhibition titled "HIV: a look through Art" in cooperation with Comfenalco Antioquia. We will also continue to carry out sexual education workshops targeting high school students in the city of Medellin and its surroundings.

Accreditation process of our entity

English Version
We want to share with you one of the most important achievements of our organization during the year 2019.

We voluntarily chose to participate in the accreditation process of the Regional Bureau and the National Bureau of the Accreditation System of Civil Society Organizations - an effort led by the Colombian Confederation of Non-Governmental Organizations and funded by the European Union
Today, we can happily say we are an accredited institution thanks to our autonomous and voluntary participation in the accreditation process - a commitment which began in 2018. This very important milestone in our journey recognizes an effort of more than 18 months. It exemplifies our commitment to continuous improvement, and we hope this serves as a testimony for building trust with you: our GlobalGiving supporters

Our mission is to continue working on preventing the HIV infection among young people and to support those families with children affected by HIV in the Colombian region of Antioquia.

For this reason, we count on your support, which will allow us to continue contributing to a world free of AIDS.

Social accountability report and artistic workshop

Great news for SiFuturo!

The Colombian Confederation of NGOs approved our social accountability report and we completed the workshop titled "Denaturalization of violence through graffiti" together with our partners at the "Resisto y Pinto Foundation"!

Transparency is one of our guiding values as a charity. That is the main reason why we vonluntarily participated in the call for submissions of social accountability reports for non profit organizations made by the Colombian Confederation of NGOs. We are glad to announce that our report was approved, once again showing our commitment to transparency!

In addition to that, we completed the workshop titled "Denaturalization of violence through graffiti" together with our partners at the "Resisto y Pinto Foundation".

With the completion of this workshop, a lot of objectives were achieved such as:

  • Identifying gender as a social construction
  • Demonstrating stereotypes
  • Re-thinking paradigms
  • Discrimination, violence and resistance, as well as to recognize how these stereotypes limit the constructions between men and women

It was also possible to link these reflections to an artistic and creative exercise where the people who were participating were able to capture their ideas and enjoy a morning of learning and growth.

We attach to this report both pictures of our social accountability report and the atest workshop completed by the members of SiFuturo!
